When the Government had the opportunity to pitch an idea, they chose an iconic design that will seal it's fate - going down the toilet. Oh dear! The price tag will give Aucklanders the shits!

TOP TEN #43: Reasons why Labour are supporting a new stadium in Auckland

10=. A mysterious engineers’ union donation that put Labour back in the black.

10=. $800 million makes the pledge card debt look small.

9. Since 49% of New Zealanders receive government assistance (working for families, student loans or are civil servants), rugby supporters is enough support to entrench them in power.

8. They can blame rugby supporters for traffic congestion.

7. Helen has already secured the naming rights for the stadium.

6. $800 million makes the government 50.1% of GDP.

5. They can have a monopoly on stadium billboards when they call the next election.

4. Trevor Mallard can pop a giant Heineken at the opening.

3. Environment Minister Benson Pope will ensure the venue is ideal for ball sports.

2. Auckland Issues Minister Judith Tizard can have something to do.

1. It is not in Helen Clark’s electorate.

WANKER OF THE WEEK #14: The entire bloody Press Gallery

WHERE DO I START???!!!!!

First, it transpires that the real reason why the Labour Party used taxpayer dollars to fund the pledge card was because they were broke. Did the media pick up on this and grill them? No!

Secondly, National can not pay back the accidental GST bill on their broadcasting because they would be breaking the law and be fined $100,000 on top of the $100,000 odd amount they overspent. When National offered to introduce legislation so they can pay the bill, Labour blocked it. Now Labour have passed a law legalising their illegal expenditure and are giving National shit about it their GST bill. And do you think the media have questioned the hypocrisy over this? Guess again!

Come on media, WAKE UP!!!

Can you think of any other recent examples?

TOP TEN #42: Names rejected for the new Auckland quarry suburb

If you haven’t been following the news (or you don’t really care), there is to be a new suburb in Auckland in the former Winstone quarry. 10=. Jafaville

10=. The Underground

9. Helengrad

8. The Shingles

7. Bankstown

6. Mordor

5. The Depression

4. The Piles

3. Bedrock

2. Hubbard’s Hole

1. The Pitz

Can you think of any other suggestions that should have been considered?
